Congratulations are extended to Chris Buckley and Shane Mercy for being selected to the Maryland Junior All State Band. These students were selected by audition from the best 7th, 8th and 9th grade musicians from all over the state of Maryland and it is an incredible honor and recognition of their hard work! Chris Buckley is 3rd Chair 1st Trombone, and Shane Mercy was selected as Alternate Tenor Sax with the third highest score in the state.
Congratulations to our Howard County Honors Band Members: Josh Waldman, Kevin O’Brien, Sinclaire Mills and Eric Fiege! These four musicians were selected to represent Folly Quarter Middle School in the Howard County Honors Band, a band made up of students from all 19 middle schools in Howard County. They were selected based on their audition and director recommendation. The Honors Band will perform on Saturday night, January 30, 2010, at Atholton High School under the direction of Mr. David Smith and Mrs. Lori Reichl. The performance is free and open to the public. We hope that you can attend!
